This issue has spiraled out of control. It's a total catastrophe. We've tried anything to fix it, but nothing seems to be effective. At this point, it feels like we're doomed. Honestly, I don't know what else to do. This is a train wreck of epic proportions.

Sometimes you encounter situations so awful that you can't help but burst out chuckling. It's like your brain tries to understand the sheer magnitude of destruction and just throws its hands up, opting for laughter as a coping strategy.
But then, you suddenly become aware that it's not really funny. It's just plain bad. And the laughter you felt morphs into a sigh.
After all is said and done, you are left with a sense of confusion. You wonder about the nature of it all. Was this intended to be funny?
Or were we just living in a simulation gone wrong?

Dreadful Day Ever
It all started with a terrible case of bedhead hair. I couldn't do it to look decent. As I was dashing out the door, I stumbled and gracefully all over my new shoes. To make matters worse, I was extremely behind schedule for school.
I flustered. My {boss|teacher|was absolutely furious. I attempted to explain, but it was no use.
The rest of the day was an absolute nightmare. Everything. I couldn'tthink straight.
By the time I reached my destination, I was utterly defeated. Very bad This day, this horrific day will be forever remembered as an epic fail.

It all started out horribly with a simple mishap/incident/screw-up. But then everything went from bad to absolutely terrible. A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to throw your hands up.
